Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-08-11
This privacy policy describes how Vidd AB ("Vidd" or "we") collects, processes and stores your personal data when you visit our website or are in contact with us. Vidd AB is the data controller for the processing described in this policy and protects your privacy in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Swedish data protection law.
If you are a user of the Vidd platform at app.vidd.io, your firm is typically the data controller for client and case data processed in the platform. That processing is governed by our agreement with your firm, including our Data Processing Addendum. This policy covers our website at vidd.se and our direct relationship with you as a visitor, contact person or customer representative.
When do we collect personal data?
- When you contact us, book a demo or request a quote via our website
- When you sign up for information or register for an event
- When you interact with us in person, by phone, by email or via social media
- When you visit our website and accept analytics cookies
- When your employer becomes a customer of Vidd and you are named as a contact person
What personal data do we collect?
- Contact details you provide, such as name, company, job title, email address and phone number
- The content of your messages to us, such as questions, feedback and demo requests
- If you accept analytics cookies: technical usage data such as browser type, device, language, IP address, pages visited and how you interact with the site (including session recordings — see Cookies and analytics below)
Why do we process personal data — and on what legal basis?
We only process personal data when we have a legal basis under the GDPR:
- To respond to inquiries, demo and quote requests, and to maintain business contact with prospective and existing customers — legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
- To deliver and administer our services, including invoicing, payments and support — performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b))
- To keep accounting records — legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c), the Swedish Bookkeeping Act)
- To send newsletters or other marketing you have signed up for — consent (Art. 6(1)(a)); you can unsubscribe at any time
- To understand how our website is used and improve it — consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), given via the cookie banner
Who do we share personal data with?
We never sell personal data. We share personal data only with suppliers (data processors) that help us run our website and business, and that may only process the data on our instructions under data processing agreements:
- Our hosting and infrastructure provider, which stores the website database
- Google Ireland Ltd (Google Analytics 4) — only if you accept analytics cookies
- PostHog (product analytics, hosted on servers within the EU) — only if you accept analytics cookies
Where a supplier processes personal data outside the EU/EEA — for example Google, whose parent company Google LLC is based in the United States — the transfer is protected by the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or by standard contractual clauses.
How long do we store personal data?
- Data linked to a customer relationship is stored for the duration of the relationship and then deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it longer — for example, accounting records are kept for seven years under the Swedish Bookkeeping Act
- Inquiries and demo or quote requests are stored for as long as needed to handle the matter, and are then deleted if no customer relationship is established
- Analytics data is stored according to the retention settings of each analytics tool, and you can withdraw your consent at any time
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- Access — request a free copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
- Erasure — have your data deleted when there is no legal ground for keeping it
- Restriction — request that we limit the processing of your data
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest, and always to direct marketing
- Data portability — receive the data you have provided in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal
To exercise your rights, email filip@vidd.se. We will act on your request promptly and no later than one month after receiving it. If you are dissatisfied with how we process your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY), imy.se.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies — small text files stored by your browser — in two categories:
- Necessary cookies that make the website work, such as remembering your language and your cookie choice. These are always active.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and PostHog) that help us understand how the website is used. These are only set if you accept them in the cookie banner or under Cookie settings in the footer. If you accept, PostHog may also record how you interact with pages on the site (session recording) so that we can improve the user experience.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies. You can change or withdraw your cookie choice at any time via Cookie settings in the footer, and you can also block cookies in your browser settings. Read more about cookies at allaboutcookies.org.
How we protect personal data
Personal data is transferred encrypted (TLS/HTTPS) and stored in systems where access is limited to people who need the data for their work.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when our services or legislation change. The current version is always published on this page, and the date at the top shows when it was last updated.
